Cheer Memo August 8th
The 2015-2016 school
year is about to kick-off! The cheerleaders have worked so hard over the summer
getting ready for competition and I am excited to continue to push them to
elevate their skills. August 8th is NOT the last Saturday practice.
We will continue practicing on Saturdays from 9am-1pm (with the exception of
Saturday August 15th) to get the cheerleaders ready for September 12th’s
competition. After September 12th we will move into our regular
season practice dates. Please note, these dates are TBD as my teaching schedule
has not been fully solidified.
Before going to competition I would like to have a parent
meeting. Some concerns have been voiced and I understand that many parents
still have concerns to voice and would like to have their voices heard. The
first week we will be having a mandatory
parent meeting. Here are the options for when this meeting could take place:
Tuesday,
Sept. 1st, Wednesday, Sept. 2nd or Thursday, Sept. 3rd 5pm (I would be coming from Hill
Middle School)
Saturday,
September 5th 1pm
(immediately following practice)
Monday,
September 7th Any time (pending school being out for Labor day)
Please text or call me
with your top 3 meeting choices and I will do my best to accommodate. Please
note, if you are not present at this meeting your cheerleader will not be able
to cheer at competition or any events following until you have set up a 1-on-1
meeting with me.
Lastly,
if your cheerleader attends a school OTHER THAN DCIS or NCAS (at Montbello),
please send me the name of their principal ASAP, I need to make sure all MS
staffs are on the same page when it comes to cheerleading.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Cheer Memo Week of May 26th
This
week is our “last week” of practices. Cheerleaders will have
a break from practicing
between June 1st and June 12th
with practice resuming SATURDAY, JUNE 13TH
AT 9AM. Practice will be held outside,
under the trees at the front of NCAS. Please check the calendar on the website
(raapwarriorcheer.blogspot.com) for any additional information. Also, Coach O
is currently working on the tumbling schedule for the summer, if you are able
to drive to tumbling (it could possibly take place in Westminster), please
indicate so on the back of this form. I would like to see if this is a feasible
option, because the tumbling equipment is in Westminster making it the ideal
location for the cheerleaders to get the most out of their tumbling cost.
Friday, May 29th
by 3pm uniform payments are due. We are currently working to get updated
information on how much was raised in fundraisers, so if this affects you
please let me know. Please continue to plan to pay $20 for shoes. I will be assessing
how returner shoes look and deciding if we will keep those shoes (16.95) or go
with a new shoe (20.00).
We now have a team mom! Ms. Porsha will be leading
communication from this point and providing you with any updates that you may
need. I will be providing her with a contact sheet before the end of the week.
Please continue to utilize both of us as well as the website to get any of your
questions answered. I will no longer be on the Montbello Campus after Friday,
May 29th and I will not be able to answer communication until after
5 on weekdays.
Please continue to encourage your cheerleader to wear appropriate shoes. This is part of
being prepared for practices as outlined in the Demerit system. As always if
you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Cheer Memo Week Of May 11th:
Cheer
Families:
Demerits
have now begun. All cheerleaders have taken and passed the demerit quiz and I
will now be using demerits to hold all cheerleaders accountable for their
actions. If you would ever like to know where your cheerleader stands with
demerits, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
The first uniform payment was due
May 1st and the second one is due THIS FRIDAY May 15th. If for whatever reason you are
unable to make this payment deadline, please contact me immediately. Please
understand that I am managing approx. 15 cheerleaders (not including JV) and it
is very hard to keep up with everyone’s finances. PLEASE REACH OUT, I do not want to remove cheerleaders, I am VERY
understanding, but communication is key.
Next, I have asked all cheerleaders
to purchase mouth guards for stunting. Please get these as soon as possible. J Please do not buy football mouth guards. The mouth
guards cost between $2-$8. Please see the picture below:
Cheerleaders
also need to be in proper cheer attire (including shoes) at every single practice
per the demerit contract. As always if
you have any questions, please reach out to me.
